My approach
We are bombarded with negative information about our ADHD, constantly being told to “fit in” and act “more normal”. That’s why I’ve adopted a strength-based coaching style. I help my clients identify and leverage their strengths to help them thrive.

Turning your struggles into your strengths.
Some of my clients struggle to find their place in society, but others are already tremendously successful, leveraging their curiousity, creativity and high energy to drive their careers. What they all share though, are deep feelings of underachievement. They know their potential, they know what they need to do, but they just can’t get started or follow-through. A little coaching can help ADHD-ers gain the time and the space they need to unlock their full potential.
Leveraging skills I developed as a documentary producer, my approach helps to quickly uncover what's really stopping you from moving forward. I ask precise probing questions and have a gentle, but direct no-nonsense approach to coaching.
The warm-up call.
This initial call is free and typically takes around 40 minutes. This helps me assess your needs and gives you a chance to sample my coaching style to see if we're a good fit. I am based in Toronto, but coaching is done by phone (toll-free) so no matter where you are we can have a private conversation.
So, you can keep reading or you can book the free consultation, and I can talk you through the process. No pressure, either way.
Our first formal session.
In the first session, we will focus on finding relief from what’s stressing you most. Many of my clients say they had several "ah-ha" moments during that first session.
I will guide you with thoughtful questions and truly listen to what you have to say. Each session will typically run 90 minutes – a little longer than the usual 60 – allowing us a bit of extra time to explore more deeply and for conversations to end naturally.
By the end of each 90-minute session, we will have created an Action List—with exciting new tools and strategies to test between sessions. Accountability texts are also included. If you’re open to it, I will check in with you during the week to see how you’re doing and so you can share any revelations you may have had. It’s all about making progress, boosting confidence and you feeling good about you!
1. Focus
It all starts by learning how to focus on what you want.
2. Reflect
Next, you’ll reflect on what may be blocking you and learn how to overcome these obstacles. We’ll drill down deep to find out what is really getting in your way.
3. Action
At the end of each session, you’ll have an action list that we co-created with tools and strategies that you’re excited to try. You will quickly move forward with new confidence and renewed focus.
You’ll see a meaningful difference in just 4 weeks.
Coaching is different from therapy. It is meant to be intense and action-oriented. I ask new clients to commit to four weeks, with one 90-minute session each week and ‘accountability’ texts in between sessions. This is when all the fundamental learning and change happens.
Each session will help provide you with a renewed sense of purpose and the confidence needed to overcome those nagging challenges - once and for all. Within a month you will have a good grasp of how your ADHD brain works, new strategies and tools in place to help improve your day-to-day, and a fresh perspective on the world around you.
What comes after is up to you.
Some of my clients find they have learned enough to keep them moving forward. Some want to dig deeper, so they continue with coaching on a weekly or biweekly. Others see a major benefit in monthly check-ins, to help them stay accountable and focussed on their goals.
Think of this as your new beginning! You WILL see results from your very FIRST session.
General questions people often ask me.
-
An Adhd Coach is a trained professional who can help you come up with ways to handle the responsibilities and activities made harder by your ADHD symptoms.
Coaching is a tool you can use with or without medications and other ADHD treatments to help you get organized and reach your goals. But as they say, “Pills don’t teach you skills”, so coaching is crucial to understanding how your brain works. -
It focuses on practical ways to deal with everyday tasks and emotional regulation that might be tougher because of your ADHD. The process is a lot like cognitive behavioural therapy (CBT) a type of psychotherapy that works to change the way you react to situations. Such as…
Goal setting
Prioritization
Motivation
Organizational skills
Planning and scheduling
Inability to focus on what’s most important
Stress management
Impulse control
Confidence and self-esteem building
Relationship and communication skills
Memory improvement
Leveraging your strengths

An ADHD coach can also be a regular accountability partner to encourage you as you work to change your habits. ADHD coaching can help you learn to:
Keep your focus long enough to carry out a plan
Figure out the specific actions you need to take to reach a goal
Find the motivation to help you work toward a goal
It also deals with your everyday habits and teaches you to form healthier routines.
For example, you may focus on:
Work
Relationships
Finances
Home Maintenance
Health
Exercise
Sleep
Parent of a young adult?
If your son or daughter is post high school and has ADHD, they may be experiencing difficulties as they transition to the next phase of their life. This is often due to the lack of structure and accountability they were used to in high school. When these support systems are removed, it can lead to feelings of demotivation, anxiety, lack of focus and missed opportunities.
Through coaching I have been successful in helping young adults better understand their ADHD brains. With my strength-based approach, I help them get unstuck and feel motivated again by setting goals, prioritizing and taking action. Overall, this helps them build more confidence, self-esteem, feel more in control of their emotions and have a more positive outlook. Book a free consultation today to see how I can help.
